Whether you are a fan of your local district team or you like to know what’s going on in girls high school basketball around Pennsylvania, the TribLive High School Sports Network has you covered this winter.
We rank the top WPIAL teams in each class every Sunday and follow with our PIAA rankings every Monday during the high school basketball season.
It was another week of strong play from Pennsylvania’s elite as there were a combined three losses among the 30 ranked teams.
Malvern Villa Maria Academy dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 in Class 5A after a 10-point loss to St. Basil Academy, the No. 2 team in Class 3A.
Losses by Upper Dublin in Class 6A and The Christian School in Class A knocked them out of the rankings, which opened the door for Cumberland Valley and Chester Charter-Arts.
Six WPIAL teams remain ranked with North Allegheny and Chartiers Valley on top in classes 6A and 5A respectively. Peters Township in 6A, Bishop Canevin in 2A, and West Greene in A are ranked second. North Catholic in No. 3 in Class 4A.
