WPIAL releases boys, girls soccer playoff pairings

The Highway to Highmark is about to be well-traveled.

The WPIAL released pairings for the postseason boys and girls soccer tournaments on Wednesday afternoon.

Peters Township (Class AAAA), West Allegheny (AAA), Quaker Valley (AA) and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (A) were awarded the top seeds in the respective boys soccer tournaments.

On the girls side, top seeds are Pine-Richland (Class AAAA), Moon (AAA), Freedom (AA) and Seton LaSalle (A).

Opening-round games will be held Saturday for the boys and Monday for the girls.

The WPIAL championships will be contested Nov. 2-4 at Highmark Stadium.
